Education
Ms. Serwat is the lead author of a two-part divorce and co-parenting curriculum approved by the MN State Supreme Court. The first part of the curriculum addresses issues relating to divorce including: the emotional divorce (stress and grief), domestic violence, legal process options, asset and debt distributions, child support, spousal maintenance/alimony, and parenting time and protocols. The second part of the curriculum addresses issues relating to co-parenting including: the impact of conflict on children, developmental needs of children, talking to children about divorce, parenting trust, healthy parenting environments, anger and conflict management, communication skills, and best practices for co-parenting.
The format of the approved curriculum is in-person classroom (versus an online offering). Classes are not being offered at this time.
“To be honest, I was not looking forward to spending an entire Saturday in class. But, I have to admit, I really enjoyed your class and took away tons of useful information and tools. I was impressed with you. You did a really nice job keeping everyone involved, and, specifically tying in everyone’s particular situations.”
